Over the years I’ve lived in many different places, from the pine forests of New England, to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, the high desert of New Mexico, and the rolling farmlands of Iowa. Each place brings new inspiration to my work through their varying landscapes and the plants that grow there. Recording what I see in my sketchbook, I’m particularly drawn to the beauty of the everyday, overlooked landscape.

I savor the impromptu moments of stopping to sit and do a quick plein-air drawing of the landscapes around me.
